Ashokkumar Gopalan
India
I am Ashok Kumar Gopalan, a professional artist based in Kerala, India. My journey in art began with a profound interest in visual storytelling, which led me to pursue a Graduation in Painting from the Government RRCFA, Mavelikara, Kerala. I further honed my skills with a postgraduate degree in Graphic Art (MFA) from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal.
Over the years, my artistic endeavors have been recognized on both national and international platforms. I am honored to have received the prestigious Jackson Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant twice, as well as awards from institutions like the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, and the Raja Ravi Varma Cultural Society.
My creative journey spans a range of mediums, from lithographs to paintings, and my works have been showcased in solo and group exhibitions across India and beyond. Some of my most cherished moments include exhibiting at the 59th National Exhibition of Art in New Delhi and participating in the India-Japan Exchange Exhibition of Prints.
As an artist, I draw inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of Kerala and my own experiences. My art often reflects the vibrant interplay of tradition, nature, and contemporary narratives, allowing viewers to connect deeply with each piece.
Through platforms like Artistically, I hope to continue sharing my artistic vision with a global audience, connecting with art enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
