I am Saju Mannathur, an artist from Kerala, India, deeply inspired by the vibrant culture and landscapes of my homeland. My journey in art began with a strong foundation, earning an Advanced Diploma in Painting from Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, and a National Diploma in Fine Arts (NDFA) in Painting from Raja Ravi Varma College of Fine Arts, Mavelikkara. Over the years, I have been fortunate to receive recognition for my work, including the prestigious National HRD Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, New Delhi, and twice receiving the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi State Award. These accolades have motivated me to continually explore and refine my artistic expressions. I have participated in numerous state and national art camps and exhibitions, including the renowned "God's Own Country" exhibition at Aalankritha Art Gallery. My paintings often focus on expansive landscapes, minimizing human drama to create a narrative that is both humble and profound. I strive to craft new, solitary stories by reinterpreting traditional narrations in my work. One of my most fulfilling projects was contributing a sculpture depicting the life of a fisherwoman at the Adventure Park in Kollam, Kerala. It was an opportunity to merge my passion for art with my connection to the local culture and social themes. Currently, I reside and work in Kochi, where I continue to explore new horizons in art, blending the rich heritage of Kerala with contemporary perspectives. My goal is to inspire others through my art and contribute to the vibrant tapestry of India’s artistic legacy.
